TURN THE PAGE

“BAD CHAPTERS CAN STILL CREATE A STORY THAT ENDS WELL. LET YOUR PAST BE PART OF YOUR STORY, NOT YOUR IDENTITY” – TRENT SHELTON

We all have had a bad chapter in our life that we would like to forget. For some that chapter is still being written. Our experiences make up our words that make up our sentences that make up our paragraphs that make up our pages that ultimately make up our story.

I never thought that prison would be a part of my story. But do we really ever know what lays ahead? We can prepare for many things and yet still not be ready for the unexpected. Our plans in life only play a small part in the bigger schemes of things. God is the best planner for us all. We may not understand why we go through what we go through but trust the journey he puts you on.

Struggle puts us on the path of change. On this path of success, happiness and peace of mind we will encounter some form of struggle that we must overcome. The attainment of these things has a level of struggle and adversity attached.

I use to only focus on the WHY of me being in here. Never truly taking the time to focus on the results which will tell me my why. Prison has become a blessing for me in many ways. It has allowed me to gain so much knowledge and wisdom. The gaining of this knowledge and wisdom has caused my perception to be changed forever.

I’ve had some bad chapters in my life. However, I don’t allow my past chapters to alter my present. Nor do I allow my past chapters to alter the story being written for my future. They are indeed a part of the story but they do not define who I am. Every morning I turn the page by writing a word, a sentence, a paragraph and a chapter that sparks change in the lives of others. Hoping to inspire someone to fight through the struggle and adversity. To see these as test that you must overcome on your journey to greatness.

My innocence is my story. I’m not a victim to an unjust legal system. I’m a victor to those who relate to it because I’m facing and overcoming my struggle and adversity. I’m leading the way by sharing my experiences and showing you that you’re not alone. You don’t have to be in prison to face struggle or adversity. No matter what you can overcome anything just remove the fear and walk in faith. And most of all TURN THE PAGE!
